With the recent partnership with Redington as the third distributor, Citrix India is planning a serious channel push for its products.
“Virtualization is perhaps the only technology today that customers of all sizes are embracing because it cuts down the cost of operations. We have realized that the SMB market is eager to deploy virtualization technologies, and have already released a portfolio of products suited for this space. To reach the SMB market we plan to grow our current partner base of Citrix Solutions Advisors (CSAs),” explained Souma Das, Area Vice President, Citrix Systems India.
At the center of the company’s SMB push is XenApp Fundamentals, a remote access solution for Windows, designed specifically for customers having less than 75 users.
Das said that the vendor will add 30 new partners during the current quarter, and around 70 in the JAS and OND quarters of 2009. There are also plans to upgrade many of the Silver certified CSAs to Gold certified. “We currently have seven Gold partners, and the number is likely to touch 15 by year-end. We also will be introducing our Platinum certification, and will upgrade a few Gold partners to this status,” he added.
Citrix fundamentally focuses on two areas: virtualization, and application acceleration and delivery.
Citrix is already being distributed by Ingram Micro, which like Redington carries the entire portfolio, while M.Tech focuses solely on the application-availability appliances business.
