Datacare to Expand Presence in Maharashtra

Pune-based Datacare Corporation aims at expanding its presence in the interiors of Maharashtra to be able to reach out to more resellers. It will also expand its retail footprint.

Anil Mhaske, CEO, Datacare Corporation said, “We intend to open branches in cities like Solapur, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Nagpur and Nashik. These branches will helps us establish a quick and direct interface with our partners which in turn, will help us gain their confidence.” The company already has a branch in Mumbai.

Currently with three multi-brand retail outlets in Pune, the sub-distributor plans to open three more outlets in the city, of which one will be an exclusive Dell showroom.

“Last year we boosted our product portfolio by becoming Dell’s regional distributor. To strengthen our relationship further, we are opening an exclusive Dell showroom this year. This outlet will be up and running in 45 days time,” Mhaske informed.

Having recorded a turnover of Rs 250 crore in 2008-09, Datacare has set a target of Rs 325 crore for the current financial year.

The aim of the company is to move into larger role of a national distributor by 2010. “Our long-term plan is to go national, and represent some of the big brands in the market. We have already begun working on this and by 2010 we will position our self as a national distributor,” Mhaske said.
